Betta Fish

Betta fish, or Siamese fighting fish, are small, colorful, freshwater tropical fish known for their flowing fins and vibrant personalities, but males are highly aggressive towards each other, leading to their name. Originally from Southeast Asia, they have been bred for varied colors and fin types, though wild Bettas are drabber with short fins. Key traits include a slender body, a labyrinth organ for breathing atmospheric oxygen, and a tendency for males to flare their fins and gill covers in displays of aggression.
